IAS STUDY CENTRES IN CHENNAI

1. New Manidhaneyam IAS Training Centre will provide training for those who have passed Group-I examinations conducted by the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission. An official release stated that 164 students underwent training at the Centre, of which 87 passed. The organisation will provide free accommodation and food for the participants.

2. All India Civil Services Coaching Centre:

All India Civil Services Coaching Centre is run by Government of Tamil Nadu to train Backward Classes, Most Backward Classes, Schedule Caste/Schedule Tribe candidates and to enable them to write Civil Services Examination.Previously a separate Institure for SC was functioning from 1966 as Pre Examination Coaching Centre and from 1971 another Institute was functioning to Coach Backward Classes, Most Backward Classes candidates etc.,

Now Both the Institutes have merged and renamed as All India Civil Services Coaching Centre and is functioning under the Anna Institute of Management.The Institute gives incentive coaching for Backward Classes, Most Backward Classes, Schedule Castes/Schedule Tribes as well as General Candidates to write Civil Services Examination. The Institute has three regular faculty members and large number of Guest Faculty members whose details are given below.


The Director, Anna Institute of Management has stated that there is a huge demand from candidates all over the State for joining the coaching provided at the All India Civil Services Coaching Centre, that the residential facilities at the Housing Board accommodation at Anna Nagar cannot take more numbers and that many of the candidates who prepare for the examination are either employed or studying during the period of preparation for the Civil Service Examination and are not in a position to attend the residential coaching programme. With a view to make it more convenient for non-residential candidates also to take up the Entrance Test and to provide coaching to a larger number of selected candidates, keeping in mind the constraints imposed by the restricted hostel availability, tutor-timings and financial constraints, the Director, Anna Institute of Management has proposed certain requisites

3. Free coaching for civil service exams in chennai:

BSA Crescent IAS Academy will conduct a six-month, free coaching class for students appearing for the Civil Services (IAS and IPS) Preliminary Examination 2008. Coaching will be held at BSA Crescent Engineering College Campus, Vandalur, Chennai, from the third week of this December. A written test will be held in 15 centres, including Bangalore, Mysore and Bijapur, on December 8. Interviews will be conducted in December. More details can be had on Ph: 044-22751155.

M.F. Khan, Director of the BSA Crescent IAS and IPS Academy informed that free coaching classes would be conducted for the preliminary examinations for the year 2008 will commence from the third week of this December. Admission would be open to all students including backward, most backward, SC/STs and minorities.


Intensive coaching


Counselling and guidance, lecture sessions, seminars, group discussions and periodical weekly and model revision tests would form the components of the coaching programme. Intensive coaching would be offered for all popular optional papers and general studies by a team of experts. Admissions would be based on a written test and oral interview.


Written test
Written test would be conducted in fifteen centres including Coimbatore and would be on December 08. The oral personal interview would be conducted at Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Calicut, Tiruvananthapuram in the first week of December. Separate hostel facilities would be provided for girls and boys.

4. Admission to IAS/IPS coaching classes in madurai

The Department of Youth Welfare of Madurai Kamaraj University has invited applications for admission to coaching classes for IAS/IPS examinations 2007-08.

Interested graduates can apply. Selection will be on the basis of their performance in the entrance examination on November 29. The last date for receipt of applications is November 21. A release from the programme officer in-charge, said the application should be on plain paper with details of name, educational qualification, age and date of birth and address, along with photostat copies of mark statement, provisional/degree certificate, transfer certificate, community certificate and two self-addressed/ Rs.5 stamped envelopes. 5. Permanent IAS coaching centre to be set up in trichy

Bharathidasan University has decided to establish a permanent IAS coaching centre. The Centre would prepare candidates for various competitive examinations. During the month-long training, the candidates underwent 50 hours of general knowledge classes. Forty hours were devoted for tests. Of the fifty two trainees, including 18 women, 31 were from rural areas. Eminent resource persons handled the classes on various subjects including Indian History, Indian Culture, Indian Economy, Geography, Current Affairs, Impact of Science and Technology in development of India, Aptitude and Mental Ability, and Tamil Nadu Administration.

6. Free IAS exam coaching in vellore

The Indus IAS Coaching Academy, Vellore would be conducting free coaching for the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) examinations here from the third week of December in selected optional subjects such as Indian history, public administration, geography and general studies.
